Job Purpose

The Senior Digital Finance Analyst serves as a senior functional expert at the intersection of Finance and IT, driving the Finance digital agenda on design, optimization, and continuous improvement of digital finance processes and systems. The role combines deep functional expertise in SAP S4HANA Private Cloud FICO with strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP, The position ensures SAP S4HANA FICO solutions effectively support accounting, treasury, controlling, and governance requirements while maintaining IFRS and GAAP compliance. Acting as a key Finance IT liaison, the role translates in close collaboration with IT, complex business and accounting requirements into system solutions, supports finance transformation initiatives, and enhances automation, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency across all finance disciplines.

The role exercises significant independence and determines work approach with minimal supervision. The role priorities for own work and aligns them with team objectives, competing tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Finance Support

Provide functional and system support across all finance disciplines, ensuring SAP S/4HANA configurations, reporting structures, and automation solutions meet diverse business requirements while maintaining IFRS and GAAP compliance. Work closely with finance subject matter experts and IT to translate business needs into effective, integrated system solutions. Identify and resolve cross-functional system issues, manage integration dependencies, and support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial control, transparency, and operational efficiency.

SAP S/4HANA – FI/CO

Lead the design, configuration, and optimisation of SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud FI/CO modules to deliver robust financial processing and reporting. Act as the senior functional subject matter expert for Aramco-used modules, ensuring alignment with IFRS and GAAP while promoting data integrity and business efficiency. Partner with IT to bridge finance and technology, contribute to complex initiatives, and drive functional enhancements across finance systems including S/4HANA, Concur, Ariba, BTP, IAG, and AFC.

Finance Process Design and Digital Transformation

Drive end-to-end finance process design to enhance standardisation, automation, and scalability. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline record-to-report, procure-to-pay, and order-to-cash processes using SAP capabilities and complementary digital solutions. Support transformation programmes by embedding best practices in financial governance, internal controls, and reporting frameworks.

IFRS and GAAP Compliance Integration

Ensure system designs, reporting structures, and digital workflows align with IFRS and local GAAP requirements. Translate accounting standards into system-enabled solutions that support accurate reporting, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance, while providing guidance on appropriate accounting treatments.

Finance–IT Liaison and Requirements Translation

Act as the primary interface between Finance and IT, translating accounting and business requirements into clear functional specifications for system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations. Facilitate cross-functional workshops, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure technology solutions effectively support finance operations.

Automation and Continuous Improvement

Lead digital automation initiatives, including workflow automation, robotics, and analytics, to reduce manual effort and improve data quality. Continuously assess existing processes, identify efficiency gaps, and recommend scalable, technology-enabled improvements that enhance productivity and control effectiveness.

Data Governance and Reporting Enablement

Support the design and maintenance of financial data structures, chart of accounts, and reporting hierarchies within SAP S/4HANA. Ensure strong master data governance and integration with reporting and analytics tools to enable reliable management reporting and decision-making.

Project, Change, and Stakeholder Support

Act as a Business Lead on Finance-IT projects, supporting planning, testing, UAT, and post-implementation stabilisation. Provide subject matter expertise during system rollouts, advise finance leadership on digital capabilities and process optimisation, and support effective adoption of change.

Tasks

• Participate pro-actively in performance management activities, including continuous goal setting, continuous performance conversation and development activities to support increasing performance of the organization.
• Ensure regular updates through reporting, presentations and line managers update meetings to ensure status reporting and information sharing.
• Provide mentorship, supporting the professional development of less experienced team members.
• Oversee external party work
• Electronic tagging and filing (XBRL/ESEF) of the financial statements in line with the local regulatory requirements.
• Act as Business Lead for Finance-IT projects such as SAP Finance Central implementation, etc.
• Coordinates Finance-IT related decision-making with stakeholders.
• Review and validate SAP S/4HANA (FI/CO) financial postings to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and GAAP from a system quality check perspective.
• Monitor integration flows between SAP finance modules and connected systems
• Analyze and (contribute to) resolve system-related finance incidents, including configuration or master data issues.
• Engage with all Finance and Corporate Planning stakeholders to clarify functional requirements.
• Translate business and accounting needs into documented functional specifications for IT development.
• Perform root cause analysis on financial discrepancies or reporting inconsistencies.
• Support workflow approvals, journal entry automation processes, and reconciliation controls.
• Review and validate master data updates (e.g., chart of accounts, cost centers, internal orders).
• Participate in project stand-ups or transformation workstream meetings.
• Provide functional guidance to finance end users on SAP processes and system capabilities.
• Track open tickets, enhancement requests, and prioritize tasks aligned with transformation objectives in collaborations with IT.
• Document system changes, configuration updates, and process adjustments for audit and governance purposes in collaboration with IT.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by line Managers

Education

General Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.

Postgraduate specialization in ERP systems, Digital Finance, or Financial Technology.

In lieu of a formal university degree, substantial and progressively responsible professional experience within the relevant Job Family may be considered equivalent, provided the candidate demonstrates the required proficiency expected.

General Experience

Substantial job-related work experience (8+ Years), including hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA FI/CO (configuration and functional support), proven understanding of end-to-end finance processes, practical knowledge of IFRS and multi-country GAAP environments; experience in translating finance and accounting requirements into functional specifications.

Managerial/Mentoring Experience

Experience of general mentoring of more junior colleagues (1 to 12 months)

Requires 6-12 months of sustained mentoring experience within a professional discipline to colleagues.
