Job Description

Buyer Profile

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Procure and manage the negotiations for assigned commodities within the set budget and in accordance with purchasing policies, procedures and processes
  • Determine acceptability of quotations received based on price, delivery terms and compliance with customer specifications, provisions and conditions, and prepare bid summaries where necessary
  • Create quotation requests, purchase orders, and change orders in SAP, and issuing quotation requests in SAP Ariba, ensure that all necessary accompanying documentation is correct and complete
  • Coordinate communication between different stakeholders during the purchasing process, such as Standardization, Engineering, and end-users
  • Cooperate with different stakeholders to ensure that purchase orders meet Trade Compliance requirements
  • Support research on complex problems which are adversely affecting the efficiency, cost effectiveness and overall performance of purchasing activities within AOC's area of operation
  • Review Terms and Conditions and align with Law Department
  • Participate in global requests for quotations
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports on purchasing related topics
  • Provide regular updates on materials to Standardization and Engineering, and vendor master data to Supplier Relations Group


Role Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, procurement/supply chain or any other relevant field. An additional qualification in Purchasing Management such as CIPS or APICS is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a buyer, preferably from the oil and gas industry.
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and verbally
  • Experience working with SAP is essential; experience with Ariba is advantageous
