Job Purpose
The Controller serves as a strategic financial leader, responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control environment. As a key member of the finance leadership team, this role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial data to support executive decision-making and regulatory compliance. The Controller drives continuous improvement in financial processes, implements robust financial systems, and supports the company’s growth strategy through insightful financial analysis, risk management, and governance. This position plays a critical role in aligning financial stewardship with business objectives and the Aramco Group, ensuring fiscal discipline, and fostering a high-performance finance culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure regulatory compliance and best practice.
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly and annual financial statements and reports for Aramco’s Europe portfolio and affiliates.
- Ensure robust financial governance, risk management, and internal controls in line with ICFR standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely invoicing.
- Oversee complex international payroll administration and financial reconciliation.
- Govern and develop financial information systems, ensuring alignment with group accounting and statutory requirements.
- Provide expert advice on financial policies, procedures, and complex queries.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within finance operations; lead or contribute to key projects.
- Set and communicate departmental strategy, aligning with broader organisational goals and values.
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure compliance with tax, financial, and operational controls.
- Lead performance management, setting objectives and holding team members accountable.
- Build organisational capability through coaching, training, and professional development.
- Act as a subject matter expert, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices.
Tasks
- Lead staff members in their daily work and conduct Performance Management Process with direct reports and proactively support the development needs of the area of responsibility. Manage the selection, development and engagement of employees within assigned area of responsibility, whilst ensuring that the members fit into and will contribute to a high performing team able to deliver high performance and meet all challenges.
- Ensure Aramco Europe complies with governing policies and legislation of the areas of operation
- Develop and evaluate corporate finance strategies and ensure strategic alignment between Controller area and the other parts of Finance
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial closing activities, including consolidation, reconciliation, and financial statement preparation in line with IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the design, maintenance of robust internal controls across financial processes, including controls over financial reporting, billing, payables, and receivables to support audit readiness and risk mitigation
- Lead the preparation and review of internal and external financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Prepares materials and presents financial information to Audit Committee and other governance bodies.
Contacts External:
- Regular with counterparts in Aramco and subsidiary companies
- Periodically with external companies and/or consultants to gather information for analyses and/or studies
- Periodically with affiliate company personnel regarding financial matters of mutual concern
Contacts Internally:
- Daily with other Finance personnel at all levels regarding financial data, procedures and the coordination of day-to-day work.
- Daily with Chief Financial Officer regarding strategic direction, policies and procedures
- Frequently with AOC Management regarding strategic direction and economic trends in the area of responsibility.
Education & Skillset
- Master's Degree or Equivalent Level or relevant Experience in Finance
- Experience level enables job holder to provide leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes and challenges (More than 13 years)
- Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short /
 medium timescales within the overall policy framework. (Over 9
 years)
