Goal
As an Indirect Tax Specialist at Aramco Europe, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all indirect tax (VAT), including its foreign subsidiaries and branches. This position requires a high level of collaboration with internal teams and external service providers and advisors to manage and streamline tax-related processes. You will be responsible for the following key areas:
Functional Specific Responsibilities
- Indirect Tax (VAT) Management: Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations. Maintenance of the VAT codes in the ERP system.
- Manage external Tax Service Providers: Work closely with external tax service providers and advisors to ensure that tax calculations and filing activities are in line with both local and international tax laws.
- Tax Advice to Internal Stakeholders: Provide expert advice on indirect tax issues to internal stakeholders, including the finance team and other departments. Help facilitate tax-efficient decision-making and ensure all tax obligations are met across the organization.
- Tax Control Framework Implementation: Play a key role in the implementation and continuous improvement of Aramco Europe tax control framework. Ensure that processes are in place for monitoring and mitigating tax risks.
- Tax Audits and Litigation Support: Support tax audits and litigation activities by preparing relevant documentation, communicating with tax authorities, and helping to resolve any tax disputes.
- Tax Payable Obligations: Assist in the calculation, preparation, and timely settlement of tax payable obligations, working closely with internal teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Tax Accounting: Assist with tax accounting processes, including ensuring accurate reporting of indirect tax liabilities and ensuring that tax provisions are appropriately accounted for in the financial statements. Support the process of Internal Controls on Financial Reporting for the tax unit and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
Functional Specific Requirements
We are looking for an experienced professional who has a strong background in indirect tax management and the ability to navigate complex tax environments. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong Indirect Tax Knowledge: In-depth understanding of VAT regulations, including preparation, filing, and review of VAT returns, including relevant documentation and compliance.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Taxation, or a related field is essential.
- Relevant Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience within an international corporate environment, ideally within a finance or tax role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient knowledge of SAP (S4H) for tax and financial management, as well as advanced Excel skills to analyze data and generate report.
