Job Purpose

 

The Associate Financial Control Analyst supports the organisation’s governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) framework by performing accurate financial control analysis, monitoring adherence to internal control requirements, and supporting risk management activities. The role is responsible for executing established financial control processes, identifying and assessing control gaps, and producing reliable reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, internal policies, and financial governance standards.

In addition, the role contributes to the identification and evaluation of risks that may impact the organisation’s financial performance or sustainability, supporting the development of appropriate mitigation, contingency, or risk transfer actions in line with approved frameworks and guidance.

The role operates with limited autonomy, working under regular supervision and established guidelines, independently managing day‑to‑day tasks and setting priorities within defined parameters to meet agreed timelines.

Tasks

 

  • Participate pro‑actively in performance management activities, including continuous goal setting, continuous performance conversation and development activities to support increasing performance of the organization.
  • Ensure regular updates through reporting, presentations and line managers update meetings to ensure status reporting and information sharing.
  • Escalate major issues to line management.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by line Managers.
  • Support recurring month‑end/period‑end control activities (e.g., review/support of cost corrections and accrual inputs and ensuring proper documentation/evidence retention).
  • Support ICFR/control testing logistics and documentation (e.g., evidence collection, workpaper completeness checks, issue log/remediation follow‑up, reporting of exceptions).
  • Maintain/update trackers and reporting (e.g., audit and action follow‑up tracking and escalation of overdue items).
  • Support interactions needed for the annual testing cycle with third‑party advisors/consultants (coordination, evidence requests, alignment on testing approach).

  • Occasionally with SAO stakeholders (as applicable)

  • Daily with Line Manager
  • Daily with team members
  • Frequently with Finance Colleagues and Finance Process Owners
  • Frequently with relevant colleagues within Aramco Europe (e.g., Internal Audit, Compliance, Law, etc.)

Experience

 

General Experience

Typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience in Finance, preferably in GRC.

 

Additional

  • Part‑qualified or studying towards a professional finance or accounting qualification, such as:
    • ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
    • CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
    • CPA or equivalent regional qualification
  • GRC or risk‑related certifications (desirable):
    • ISO 31000 Risk Management (Foundation or Practitioner)
    • ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management (Foundation – desirable)
    • Internal Controls or Risk Management certificates from recognised providers
  • Introductory training in internal audit or control frameworks (e.g., COSO or equivalent European standards)
  • Ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in finance, controls, and compliance.
  • IRM (Institute of Risk Management – UK) qualifications, including:
    • International Certificate in Risk Management
    • International Diploma in Risk Management
  • FERMA (Federation of European Risk Management Associations) – risk management training and certification programs
  • Compliance and Risk certificates from recognised European professional bodies or accredited training providers

Education

 
Finance‑related Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of years of experience within Finance.
