Goal

Identify risks and develop and provide relevant solut ion, render legal advice to client organizations to ensure compli ance and that legal risks are managed in lin e with AOC and SAO relevant standards, policies, and guidelines

Key Responsibilities

Develop solutions for legal issues and prepares legal opinions and advice
Assist the Chief Counsel in examining the law and facts pertinent to legal problems
Communicate with SAO organizations and internal AOC customers
Provide legal support to AOC, AOC foreign offices, and affiliated companies
Review and advise AOC Chief Counsel and AOC operating organizations of legal documents, opinions, corporate policies and procedures, corporate rights and obligations, claims and litigation, contracts and agreements, and statutory or similar requirement
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise sound judgment
Collect relevant evidence and information, recommend solutions and coordinate communication with all parties involved
With the knowledge of Chief Counsel can be first line of contact for enquiries and matters brought to the Chief Counsel
Cover for the Chief Counsel in his/her absence and manage the affairs of the Department
Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Chief Counsel

  • Regularly with AOC Chief Counsel
  • Occasion ally with AOC Management
     

Requirements

Law degree from a recognized accredited institution and qualified to practice law in a recognized acceptable jurisdiction
Excellent English skills, both written and verbally. Proficiency Language in other areas in which AOC conducts significant operations is a plus
12 years of professional experience in an in-house legal department or within a law firm. Advanced qualification(s) or other work experience may be considered to contribute as work experience
