Role Overview
R&D Paris is seeking a Senior Researcher. The role focuses on energy and policy modelling, techno economic analysis, and close collaboration with internal stakeholders, including teams based in Dhahran. The successful candidate will contribute to high quality research outputs that support energy systems analysis and inform policy -related decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain energy and policy models, with particular focus on transport and regulated energy systems
- Perform techno- economic and quantitative assessments to support research and strategic insights
- Produce high quality research outputs including reports, analyses, and presentations
- Engage closely with internal stakeholders, including Saudi Aramco teams in Dhahran such as Technology Oversight & Coordination (TOC) and Strategy Marketing & Analysis (SMA)
- Contribute to collaborative research activities across policy, industry, and academic interfaces
- Mentor and support junior engineers and researchers within the team
- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Candidate Profile & Skills
- Background as an engineer or scientist with experience in techno economic assessment
- Alternatively, an economist or analyst with strong experience in mathematical or quantitative modelling
- Solid experience in computer programming languages (Python)
- Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills
- Strong interest in energy systems, particularly transport and policy regulation
- Ability and willingness to mentor and develop junior team members
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Working knowledge of French is desirable
Education and Experience
- PhD or equivalent degree in Engineering, Economics, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated research experience through published work, reports, or academic thesis in relevant subject areas
- Proven ability to work constructively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication skills and experience engaging with stakeholders across policy, industry, and research sectors
