General Profile

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lubricant Formulation Engineer to join our dynamic team. As part of our Transport Technologies Division of Aramco, you will play a key role in formulating new lubricants, optimizing existing products, and participating to multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and fluency in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lubricant Formulation: Develop and optimize lubricant formulations to meet performance, regulatory, and customer requirements (Hydrogen and Ammonia ICE, Racing engine etc.).
  • Innovation & Research: Conduct technology watch (bibliography reports) and propose new innovative studies to enhance lubricant performance and explore new area of development.
  • Hands-on Contribution to Formulation Projects: Contribute to multiple lubricant development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaboration: Maintain technical exchanges with other R&D centers and affiliates to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Testing & Validation: Define and oversee laboratory tests, analyse results, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for product and process enhancements, staying up to date with the latest trends in lubricant technology.
  • Reporting: Directly report to the Project Leader, preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations in English.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in lubricant formulation.
  • Strong knowledge of base oils, additives, and tribology principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple studies effectively.
  • A creative and innovative mindset for developing cutting-edge solutions.
  • Excellent teamwork, adaptability and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
