The Role

The team of Aramco Europe in Paris is seeking a Process Engineering Science Specialist, with primary focus on the following roles:

1. R&D Project Leadership

2. Supervision of Process Engineering activities

3. Engagement across Aramco’s global team and external partners

4. Mentoring and skills training

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the leadership of an R&D Project: Strategic and operational planning, resource and budget management, communication.
  • Oversee the development of process simulation models associated to fuel manufacturing processes.
  • Perform comparative assessments of conventional and advanced fuel manufacturing technologies.
  • Publish research findings and communicate results internally and externally, through journal publications or participation in scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Participate collaboratively in research projects across Aramco’s global activities and proactively contribute towards shaping Aramco’s future R&D directions.
  • Promote professional relationships with local and international institutions from the industry and academia.
  • Mentor and oversee the development of young engineers in the candidate’s area of specialty.

Requirements

  • MSc, PhD or equivalent degree in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10 years minimum of professional experience in Process Engineering, experience in plant startup and commissioning activities appreciated.
  • Mastery of fuel manufacturing processes: Crude refineries, synthetic fuel production pathways, biorefineries.
  • Mastery of process simulation software (aspenONE, PRO/II, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of regional standards on fuel property specifications and regulations for the transport sector.
  • Geographical mobility for short periods of time within Europe.
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders in industry and research sectors.
  • Proven research experience, written reports or thesis related to the energy sector appreciated.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, teamwork, proactivity, flexibility and resilience.
  • Experience with multicultural environments.
  • Full proficiency in English, knowledge of French and/or Spanish appreciated.
