Our research focuses on the co-optimization of fuel and engine systems, technology demonstration in collaboration with various stakeholders, and strategic transport studies across the road, aviation, and marine sectors. In addition, the Division supports Aramco's growth plans by building R&D capabilities in house as well as through close partnerships with other Aramco affiliates and external service providers globally.

The team in Paris is seeking a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Science Specialist, with primary focus on the following roles:

Key Responsibilities

 

Essential requirements

  • LCA model development
  • Sustainability certification and compliance of Aramco fuels
  • Engagement across Aramco’s global LCA activities
  • Mentoring and skills training

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-house LCA models of fuels, vehicles and production facilities related to the transport sector.
  • Coordinate the sustainability certification and compliance activities for Aramco low climate impact fuels.
  • Perform comparative assessments of conventional and advanced mobility technologies including, but not limited to: Advanced vehicle powertrain options, novel synthetic and bio-based fuels, refined petroleum fuels.
  • Publish research findings and communicate results internally and externally, through journal publications or participation in scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Participate collaboratively in sustainability research projects across Aramco’s global LCA activities and proactively contribute towards shaping Aramco’s future R&D directions.
  • Promote professional relationships with local and international institutions, and industrial partners.
  • Mentor and oversee the development of young engineers in the candidate’s area of specialty.

Requirements

  • Hold a MSc, PhD or equivalent degree in Engineering, Economics and/or Environmental Sciences
  • 5 years at least of professional experience in Life Cycle Assessment.
  • Good knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment software (LCA For Experts, SimaPro or other).
  • Deep understanding of the European legislation on sustainability policies and pollutants regulation.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders in policy regulation, industry and research sectors
  • Proven research experience, written reports or thesis related to the topics of interest
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with multicultural environments.
  • Full proficiency in English, knowledge of French appreciated
